Milwaukee family searches for missing rapper
by Rielle Creighton

MILWAUKEE -- 22-year-old Evon Young has made a name for himself in Milwaukee's rap scene. Just when the rapper's career seemed to be taking off, he goes missing.

Evon's family has been covering the neighborhood where he went missing with poster for six days. The only clue as to what happened comes from his roommate who says Evon left to talk to someone in a car near 52nd and Custer.

Evon's mother Annette Perry says, "He ran outside. Obviously we're thinking for a brief moment, because he didn't have his coat on he didn't have his bookbag, his laptop, any of th things he normally carries with him on a regular basis."

Perry says her first feeling that something was wrong came when Evon didn't show up for work January 2nd. She tells us Evon wasn't the kind of person that would just disappear.

The family is holding a vigil for Evon at 52nd and Custer at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th.
