Milwaukee Storage Wars

KENOSHA -- Storage locker auctions happen all over the country, but the recent popularity of reality TV shows has made the practice incredibly popular.

At Barth storage in Kenosha, they have several auctions a year to recoup the losses of customers who don't pay for their units.

Sometimes more than a hundred people show up for the auctions. Some of them regulars, and others for the first time. Those who have been doing it a while like Tom Tassi say the TV shows has  made for unrealistic expectations. Though Tassi says "in the 11 years I've been doing this, I can count on one hand the number of times I've lost money, and that was all in the beginning."

Barth Storage holds their biggest auction in the spring.
