Milwaukee remembers September 11th
MILWAUKEE - On the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks many people in the Milwaukee area are gathering to remember the victims.
One of those gatherings was the Milwaukee Remembers September 11th event held at the War Memorial Wednesday morning. Local dignitaries like Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Police Chief Ed Flynn and County Executive Chris Abele spoke at the event.
Abele says September 11th brought up a question first posed by President Abraham Lincoln during the heart of the Civil War when he basically asked can this nation survive a crisis? Abele says 12 years after the fact, that the answer is yes it can, as long as we never forget days like September 11th.
