MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a double shooting on the city's northwest side.

Just after midnight police squads responded to a call of a shooting near 27th Street and Hopkins.

Police officers found a 43-year-old man shot several times by a suspect who apparently left the scene in a black SUV.

Police say the victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Bullets also hit a Milwaukee County transit bus. One passenger on that bus is being treated for minor injuries.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or who has any information is asked to call Milwaukee Police.
