Milwaukee Getting "Spruced Up" for The Holidays
MILWAUKEE---Even though Thanksgiving is just two weeks away, the city of Milwaukee is already thinking Christmas.
Early Thursday morning, city crews harvested this year's holiday tree. It's a 40-foot tall Colorado Blue Spruce. After it was cut, a crane hoisted it on a flatbed truck. A police escort even helped transport it to Red Arrow Park in downtown. The homeowner, who lives near 25th and Hampton, knew this was a gift he had to give, especially for young kids during Christmas time. The tree will be trimmed this Saturday. The official tree lightning ceremony will be Monday, November 19th at 5:15 p.m. It's expected to stay up through mid-January. |
