Milwaukee Co. Treasurer needs help with $2 million in unclaimed funds

MILWAUKEE --- Milwaukee County Treasurer Dan Diliberti says he has $2 million in unclaimed funds that belong to residents.

Diliberti is seeking county residents help in finding the rightful owners of the money.

“The Treasurer’s Office has the job of finding the rightful owners and getting the money back to
them,” Diliberti explained. “The $2 million in unclaimed funds is a lot of money, and it belongs to
the people who, in these difficult times, could use the money to help make ends meet."

If you want to find out if any of the unclaimed money belongs to you, visit where you can download the file and claim form. You can also file claims a the Ready Reference section of all public libraries in the county.

The funds come from a variety of places including jury duty checks, bail money, and over payment refunds that weren't able to make it back to their rightful owners.

“We are making every effort to get the word out to the general public about these funds,” said Treasurer Diliberti. “Our goal is to return this money to its rightful owners.
