Students need I.D. to get free breakfast at McDonald's Thursday
by Krystal Shull

MILWAUKEE-- McDonald's Restaurants throughout Southeastern Wisconsin will offer free breakfast to all students from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., tomorrow morning, Thursday, Sept. 12, while supplies last.

This second annual event will offer students either one free Fruit & Maple Oatmeal or one free Egg White Delight Muffin. To take advantage of the one-day offer, students are required to be accompanied by an adult or show a student I.D.

The program is aimed at generating awareness for the academic benefits of eating a healthy breakfast.

"Breakfast gives great health benefits such as boosting energy and providing more focus during the day," said Dr. Veronica Gunn, medical director for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services. "Aim for a small portion of protein plus a carbohydrate for a balanced breakfast to get your student a healthy start to the day."

This effort is brought to you by McDonald's and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
