MENOMONEE VALLEY-- Mayor Barrett reported on the state of the city of Milwaukee, focusing on job creation and training.

A confident Mayor Barrett highlighted the growth of Menomonee Valley-- workers finding more than 4,000 jobs since 2004 and its total assessed property value up by 229 percent.

Ingeteam, which hosted the event at its new Menomonee Valley plant, plans to hire 235 more workers.

The mayor spoke of the city's investment in Century City, which he hopes will produce the same kind of private sector job creation.

Along with creating jobs, Barrett also covered jobs training. He referred to the Milwaukee Manufacturing partnership that he claims will train hundreds of workers.

The mayor also covered Reed Street Yards, which is a nine acre site designed for water related businesses. And he spoke of the revitilization of the Inner Harbor to allow more development.

Too bad those 4000 jobs are not all new ones - just companies relocating into the Valley. All these politicains (both sides) do is make claims. We are still better off not paying all of the union benefits though.

Tom Barrett is a total joke. 4000 jobs since 2004? He has to be kidding. A good mayor would have 4000 EVERY year. Barrett has to be thrown out of office. He's a sissy-boy with no plan for Milwaukee. Just collects his paycheck. What your plan, Barrett? What's your plan?

Be careful or you may be in his cross hairs. Feb. 8th 2012 I was listening to the Milwaukee Wisconsin WTMJ Wing Nut Radio show of Charlie Sykes. His statement was "When we nominate a candidate that is when we will use real bullets (meaning at President Obama)." Where is the Secret Service? This man threatened the life of the President of the United States of America and what did he mean when he said we? Is he talking about the weak minded listeners that will do his bidding? Enough of the Hate and Violence these Commie Pig Republicans spew out of there bile mouth's.
