MILWAUKEE --- Marquette fans had a reason to celebrate Thursday night. Golden Eagle fans watched the men's basketball team make the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2003.

Tom Crean was coaching the 2003 team that went all the way to the Final Four.

Marquette dominated Miami, who were favored to win.

From the start, the Golden Eagles used tenacious defense and shot over 50% in the first half.

Vander Blue made himself a household name in the first week of the NCAA tournament. Blue helped set the tone against Miami as well.

Blue's dunk gave Marquette an early lead. But, it took a team to knock out a tournament giant like Miami.

Jamil Wilson was the team's leading scorer with 16 points.

Marquette will play Syracuse in the Elite Eight Saturday afternoon at 3:30 on CBS 58.
