Marathon bombings affect local race's policies
MADISON- Saturday thousands of people will take part in the Crazylegs Classic in Madison, but because of the recent bombings at the Boston Marathon there have been some changes made.
University of Wisconsin officials said that while the policies may be new to Crazylegs, they should be familiar to Badgers fans who have attended any recent UW sporting event.
Storage facilities are not available for checking prohibited items. Items left at gates will be disposed of accordingly.
"I think it's good," Peter Stefaniak, who ran the Boston Marathon this year and has run Crazylegs in the past, said.
Items permitted: bags no larger than 8.5” x 11”, binoculars, cameras, blankets, jackets, umbrellas, items related to a medical condition, chairbacks (not more than 16” wide), and diaper bags (with child).
