by Chris Patterson

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Washington County Sheriff's Department confirms they have registered sex offender Larry Arnold in custody. We're told he was taken into custody around 11:06 a.m. this morning near the Township of Farmington.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a burglary at 8:30 a.m. in the Township of Farmington, a caretaker for the homeowner noticed a door had been kicked in. This home was about one mile east from another home reported to be burglarized on April 24th.

When the deputy arrived at the residence, Arnold fled on foot. After deputies lost track of him, Arnold asked a homeowner for a ride into town. The man refused to give Arnold a ride.

Arnold was finally arrested after deputies initiated a coordinated foot search of the nearby wooded area Arnold ran to after being denied a ride into town.

We're told he was arrested without incident. Medical assistance was requested, because Arnold showed signs of frostbite from being exposed to elements for an extended period of time.
