Racine man gets probation for taking upskirt pictures in a grocery store
MILWAUKEE -- Matthew Stegall has been sentenced after taking pictures under woman's skirts in a local business. As of today, Stegall has been sentenced to three years of probation.
On August 19, 2012 Stegall was caught taking pictures of a woman underneath her dress while shopping at a Pick 'n Save in Waterford. According to the criminal complaint, the woman, Brenda Clark, saw Stegall's arm extended under the bottom of her dress with his cell phone in his hand and the camera lens on the phone facing up her dress.
Investigators were able to obtain surveillance footage from the grocery store which depicted Stegall closely following Clark throughout the aisles, cell phone in hand. Video footage shows Stegall looking around nervously, not shopping.
On September 1, 2012, Investigators conducted a voluntary interview with Stegall. During the interview, he admitted that had taken inappropriate pictures of Clark at the store. He claimed to have a porn addiction and that he needed help, "I saw the lady and something just took over and I wasn't thinking!" he stated.
Stegall stated that he has taken pictures of other women inside businesses in the area more than five times. He told investigators that he would take the photo's which he described as a "high" and would later delete the pictures as he came down from that high.
