Man who killed service dog in hit and run sentenced

MILWAUKEE --- Carlos Ward was sentenced to four months in prison and two years probation Friday.

The 30-year-old is convicted of a hit and run accident that injured a Waukesha woman and killed her service dog back on June 8th.

Ward struck the woman and her dog as they crossed the street, dragging the dog several feet. Ward then fled the scene.

His vehicle was recognized a few days later and he was arrested.
