Man who drove truck into South Milwaukee home identified

SOUTH MILWAUKEE -- John Janick, 40, has been identifiedas the man who died after crashing his pickup truck into a South Milwaukee home. Police say Janick was fleeing an officer who was not actively pursuing him.

Police spotted Janick speeding early Thursday morning, and sped out of the sight of the officer. An officer later found Janick's truck crashed into a home. Janick's truck started on fire, and that fire spread to the home. All residents were safely evacuated.

Public records show Janick has three prior OWI convictions.
