RACINE -- A Racine homeowner shoots a home invader during the early morning hours of October 8th.

Racine police say the 33-year-old armed home invasion suspect suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot by the homeowner. The 33-year-old man attempted to invade a home on the 3200 block of 17th St. around 1:56 a.m.

The suspect was transported Wheaton Franciscan Health Care for treatment and later taken to Froedtert Hospital. Police believe this was a targeted robbery, and was not a random act. Police say their investigation is still on-going at this time.
