Man in critical condition following near drowning

TOWN OF RAYMOND-- A man is in critical condition following a near drowning in the Town of Raymond.

Officials were called out to the Root River behind a home on 8 Mile Road around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

A 25-year-old man who was fishing on a boat fell into the river and did not come back up.

A deputy took a small boat on the river and was to locate the victim and get him to shore.

Rescue personnel performed life saving measures on the victim and transported him to St. Luke's Hospital.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
