Man who allegedly shot into crowd gets bail reducedMILWAUKEE---A judge agreed to reduce bail for 41-year-old Shawn Bridges Wednesday. The Milwaukee man is charged with opening fire on a crowd of people with a semi-automatic firearm. Two people were wounded back on February 28th when he drunkenly shot into a crowd of people near 29th and Atkinson. Two officers who happened to be in the area say they saw Bridges do the shooting. Chief Flynn came out at the scene that day, arguing for a ban on assault weapons. He declared the case as an example of why military style looking firearms need to be banned. Bridges attorney had been arguing for weeks that the statements brought undue attention to the case and she believed it resulted in an unfair bail of $50,000. On Wednesday, Bridges offered up his house as a condition of bail, the judge agreed to reduce the amount to $30,000. |
