SHEBOYGAN --- A man was flown by Flight for Life after a police officer found him in the bushes outside a Starbucks with a stab wound in the back.

It happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday night outside the Starbucks on 14th St. and Erie Ave. in Sheboygan. An officer stopped to talk to a man lying in the bushes and learned that the man had been stabbed in the back with a large knife.

The 42-year-old man was transported to the hospital then later airlifted by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital to undergo surgery. The man is currently in stable condition and is expected to be ok.

Police located the suspect in a residence in the 1400 block of Erie Ave. The 51-year-old man was taken into custody.

The suspect and victim knew each other and police say alcohol is likely a factor in the incident.
