Butler man facing prison time for 4th OWI

MILWAUKEE---A Butler man was arrested for his 4th OWI in five years early Sunday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m. a Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle behind him in the Zoo Interchange that did not have its headlights on.

The deputy allowed the vehicle to pass and pulled over the driver at S. 84th and W. Adler streets.

The driver was 27-year-old Steven M. Olson from Butler. After failing a field sobriety test he was arrested for his 4th OWI within five years, which warrants a felony.

Olson was also driving a car that did not belonging to him, which was not equipped with the ignition interlock device he is ordered to have installed in his vehicle.

Olson was transported to jail and was booked and charged. He faces up to six years in prison.

This was the 729th repeat OWI offender arrest since January 2010.
