MILWAUKEE—A 24-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing of a MATC student.

Ruben Casarez Junior is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Irene Johnson several times inside an office at the school.

According to court documents Casarez had asked Johnson to meet him after harassing her for several days.

When she did, police said that he locked her in the room and started stabbing her with a butcher knife.

That’s when two men nearby heard the screams and kicked down the door.

They took down Casarez and began giving aid to Johnson.

Casarez has been charged with attempted murder, reckless injury, and for violating a restraining order already in place by a judge.

Johnson is still in the hospital recovering from her injuries.
