Drunk driver flees scene and commits robbery before being arrested

MILWAUKEE-- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Operation Drive Sober resulted in the arrests of 18 drunk drivers this weekend including a DUI first offender who fled the scene on foot and robbed a man before being captured.

On Saturday at 2:25 a.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle on 6th Street near Michigan Ave for lane deviation. The driver 33-year-old Michael Leflore of Milwaukee fled on foot after failing field sobriety tests.

His passenger, 24-year-old Michael Quezaire was was found with possession of a firearm and tested a .09 on a PBT. He was taken into custody for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.

At 2:45 a.m. a 911 caller reported being robbed and pushed down near the Ramada Inn.The caller followed the suspect to the area of the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Deputies found and arrested Leflore in the MacArthur Square parking structure. He was arrested for DUI first offender, robbery with use of force and resisting/obstructing.

Operation Drive Sober lasted  from Friday at 6:00 p.m. to Sunday at 6:00 a.m.

Three repeat drunk drivers were arrested and an underage drinker.
