GREENFIELD -- An East Troy man is accused of shooting up heroin in a vehicle stopped in the median of I-43 on Monday. The man apparently passed out and then the vehicle slowly rolled through busy interstate traffic.

His truck then took out a highway sign and crashed into an on-ramp wall. A Department of Transportation camera captured the whole incident. 27 year old Jacob Middleton regained consciousness when Greenfield firefighters arrived.

Officials say he was combative as they stabilized him for transport to the hospital. Middleton suffered facial fractures and an eye injury. Deputies found drug paraphernalia inside the truck and what appeared to be 18 small packages of heroin. Middleton faces up to 25 years in prison for driving under the influence of drugs and felony drug possession.
