Madison Police Officer involved in shooting

MADISON---A Madison Police Officer shot a suspect during a struggle ealy Friday morning.

It happend around 2:46 a.m. on the 500 block S. Baldwin St.

The Madison Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, there was a physical confrontation between the officer and the suspected intruder.

During the struggle, the officer fired his weapon and shot the suspected intruder.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected intruder is a man in his 30's.

No officers were injured in this incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
