MPD searching for suspect in three separate robberies
MILWAUKEE --- The Milwaukee Police Department is asking the public's assistance in finding a serial robbery suspect. The same suspect has committed three separate robberies in the last month.
"This is an armed suspect," Milwaukee Police Detective Stella Payne said. "They should use caution if they do know who the suspect is."
The first was at the Family Dollar on Appleton Ave. It happened around 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 17th. The suspect grabbed the cashier and implied he had a weapon to the clerks back. The suspect then fled with the cash.
The second robbery was at the same Family dollar just one week later on Feb. 24th at 8:40 p.m. This time, the suspect pushed an employee and put them in a choke-hold, demanding money. The suspect got away with money from two cash registers.
The third robbery was at the Walgreen's on 91st St. around 1:30 p.m. on Mar. 3rd. The suspect entered the business and grabbed an employee by the back of the neck and forced them to open the cash register. The suspect fled with the money.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5' 9" to 6", about 140 to 170 pounds. In two of the robberies he was wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket with a big G on the back.
"Businesses should be on the alert and be aware that there is a suspect out there," Payne said. "A suspect that is committing armed robberies in that area."
