Local sailor hurt in crash while on leave
Delayed medical treatment until she gets back to her base
MILWAUKEE-A sailor home on leave was involved in a rollover crash Monday while on the way to the airport to report back for duty.
That's according to the sailor's father who showed up at the scene of the two vehicle crash near 68th and Hampton.
He says his daughter was driving a car that suffered a lot of front end damage.
She was home for a few days while on leave from the Navy and was heading to the airport for a flight back to Virginia.
"She had some neck problems," Randall Kwiatkowski tells CBS 58 News, "She might have some problem with whiplash. But she had to get to the airport for report for duty, so she will get it checked out later when she gets back to Virginia."
Another vehicle involved in the crash, an SUV, rolled over onto its hood.
Witnesses say at least one person from the SUV was taken away by ambulance.
So far, no word on what caused the collision.
