Local company supplying backup power to east coast

Whitewater—Employees at a local company are working overtime, day and night, to supply the east coast with generators. Since Thursday, Generac Power Systems has been keeping up with the demand ahead of former Hurricane Sandy.

“We have got dozens of truck loads going out daily a significant increase over what we would send out on a routine basis,” explained Public Relations Specialist Art Aiello.

Aiello said the company expects to ship tens of thousands of generators to their retail and dealer partners on the east coast. He believes there may be a lull in demand during the storm, but once it’s over the demand is expected to pick back up.
