WAUWATOSA --- Fourth grade teacher Nancy Terrian has been named Wisconsin Teacher of the Year.

State Superintendent Tony Evers was on hand for the special presentation at Eisenhower Elementary School Wednesday.

Terrian's prize includes $3,000 from the Herb Kohl Education Fund.

Terrian later said that the "Real reward is when the kids come back later and say I'm a lawyer or I'm getting married. There are many people out there who are deserving of this as well."

Students rave about "Terrian Territory" a mini-classroom community she set up where she serves as mayor and the kids apply for various jobs.
