Lawsuit filed by Milwaukee County inmate dismissedMILWAUKEE -- A lawsuit filed by an inmate in Milwaukee County jail has been dismissed. The inmate sued the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office alleging he was not allowed to vote. 32-year-old Antonio Bell has been in jail since August 2011 on three felon charges, but has not been convicted of a felony. Technically Bell has the right to vote, but the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says Bell never completed the necessary forms to register to vote from prison. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reports Bell has never voted in his life, and the lawsuit was dismissed due to Bell's failure to pay the $11.50 filing fee. |
