Milwaukee Co. sex offenders to get visit during trick or treating hours
MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- Several law enforcement agencies are partnering to make sure trick or treating across Milwaukee County is safe for children.
On October 27th, combined law enforcement teams are visiting the residences of known high risk sex offenders, and serve warrants on sex offenders who have not registered with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office these knock and talks officers will enforce and confirm that sexual predators are in complaince with Halloween guidelines set by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Sex offenders will also be subjected to breathlyzer tests to ensure they're abiding by the absolute sobriety requirement of sex offenders on probation.
During last year's Halloween checks, 15 sex offenders were arrested for violating the terms of their parole.
This large policing effort is made possible by a partnership with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Milwaukee Police Department, West Allis Police Department, and the West Milwaukee Police Department.
