Kowis gets nine years for tavern robberies

MILWAUKEE---One of the men involved in a series of tavern robberies that took place last spring was sentenced Friday.

Kenneth Kowis got a total of nine years. He'll spend four of them in jail and five of them under extended supervision.

Kowis is one of two men who robbed several pubs last spring.

He claimed to have been a heroine addict, and was performing the robberies to support his drug addiction.
