Kenosha/Racine - Kenosha canceled schools before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, while Racine Schools chose to dismiss kids two hours early.

Kenosha says they want to alert parents so they can make alternate plans.

"So they can make follow decisions on daycare, or any kind of babysitting or things like that," Tanya Ruder from the Kenosha Unified School District said.

Meanwhile, Racine chose to dismiss early and some parents had to alter plans.

"Everything is messed up, my job is messed up," Thomas Jacob said.

"I would have canceled it in general," Sara Greeley said.

Both city's enacted snow emergencies at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
