Judge's son appears in court on murder charge

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- The son of a local judge should find out Monday if he'll stand trial for murder.

According to the Criminal Complaint, James Donegan, the son of Circuit Court Judge Thomas Donegan, robbed and strangled a woman at Kilbourn Park in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood last year.

Judge Donegan said he son had mental health problems and went off his medication.

The defendant had several mental health evaluations and he was cleared to stand trial.

Donegan has a preliminary hearing Monday.
