WAUWATOSA-The investigation into the death of police officer Jennifer Sebena heated up Wednesday.

At about the same time that officials confirmed they had a person of interest, officers searched the Menomonee Falls home of Sebena that she shared with her husband, Iraq War Veteran Ben Sebena.

It happened in the early afternoon Wednesday and witnesses say the officers also appeared to be canvassing outside the property and neighborhood in a search for evidence.

Residents say it was the climax to a flurry of activity since the Christmas Eve killing.

"The last couple days, marked and unmarked squad cars have been going up and down," Jacque Wilson tells CBS 58 News.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen issued a statement late Wednesday saying they would not identify the person of interest.

The statement read in part, "Unless or until charges are filed no further information about the individual will be released."
