Inmate assaults public defender

MILWAUKEE --- An inmate at the County Correctional Facility battered his public defender.

The assault took place around 1:15 p.m. during a meeting with her Wednesday.

The inmate, 34-year-old Octavio Castro-Rojoas, is being held on an aggravated domestic violence and disorderly conduct charge.

He was immediately moved to a disciplinary housing unit.

The inmate is facing an additional charge of Battery Special Circumstances, which is a felony.

If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison.
