MILWAUKEE -- For the fourth year in a row, the number of teens having children in Milwaukee has dropped

The mayor and Health Commissioner Bevan Baker announced the rate of teen pregnancy has dropped by more than 17-percent in the last 5 years.

Commissioner Baker cited community groups, faith-based programs as well as family planning initiatives as part of the reason for the continued drop in teen pregnancies.

While hispanic and black teens are still four times more likely than white teens to give birth, officials say the city is well on its way to reach its goal of 30 births per 1,000 by 2015.
