I-94 shut down

some drivers caught off guard

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation closed portions of I-94 Friday night.

It will remain that way  until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 19th.

The closures affect northbound I-94 from 27th St. to College Ave. and the southbound lanes from Rawson Ave. to Drexel Ave.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be installing a storm sewer culvert to update the drainage system.

Detours are marked.

Traffic was at a crawl a full hour after the original closing time on Friday night.
