I-94 construction causes closings over the weekend

MILWAUKEE --- A stretch of I-94 will be closed all weekend while the DOT replaces a storm sewer culvert pipe. Crews say the pipe is in poor condition and needs to be replaced.

The pipe goes across I-94 at Rawson Ave. Starting at 9:00 p.m. there will be full freeway closure from 27th St. to College Ave. heading northbound. Southbound from Rawson to Drexel will also be closed.

DOT officials say they expect the heaviest congestion to take place between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. this weekend. Those traveling to the Kenny Chesney concert at Miller park as well as college graduations going on this weekend should plan for delays.
