Hurricane Sandy strands passengers at Mitchell International
MILWAUKEE -- Hurricane Sandy will hit New York City either Monday night or Tuesday morning, but Milwaukeeans are feeling Sandy's wrath now.
Dozens of travelers came to General Mitchell in hopes of flying out east, but found out instead their flights were cancelled, delayed or rerouted. Many flights were cancelled in Milwaukee because airport operations have shut down at three of New York's major airports. The only bright side for travelers is most airlines are waiving fees for changing flights. Airport officials tell CBS 58 they are urging people to stay in touch with their airline to get up-to-date information on flights. |
