Jumped Out of Way of Out of Control Car

MILWAUKEE-A local house painter is lucky to be alive after a car jumped the curb and went airborne Friday.

It happened on Hopkins near Ruby.

Rodney Lawrence says he heard a screech and then saw a white blur coming towards him. He jumped out of the way just in time.

"I'd have been plastered underneath that building over there," Lawrence told CBS 58 News.

Firefighters shored up the front porch after a support pole was dismantled on impact.

They say police took the driver into custody.

There was one person in the home at the time of the crash. He was not hurt.
