Harford man admits to smashing church windows with fire extinguisher

HARTFORD --- A 21-year-old Hartford man was arrested Sunday after vandalizing a church early Friday morning.

According to Hartford Police they were notified of a break-in and vandalism incident that took place at the First Baptist Church. A male was seen leaving the scene on foot with several scratches and injuries on his hands and arms.

Police were able to locate the 21-year-old man around 10:30 a.m. at his residence in the 200 block of Lincoln Ave. Sunday morning. The suspect was wanted for five outstanding municipal warrants by the Hartford Police Department.

When Police questioned the suspect about the incident at the First Baptist Church he admitted to discharging a fire extinguisher inside the church and also smashing the church's windows with the fire extinguisher.

Felony charges for Burglary are being referred the the Washington County District Attorney's Office.

Police are still investigating the incident.
