Group says it has proof of "injustices" by MPD

MILWAUKEE -- A group of community members and activists say they have proof the Milwaukee Police Department is treating African Americans unfairly.

The group says it has evidence to back up the claims, and it plans to take the evidence to the U.S. Attorney's Office Tuesday.

The group says it wants the federal government to launch an investigation of what it calls "past patterns that have caused civil and human rights injustices."

Right now, it is not clear exactly what the group means, but recently, residents have protested over several incidents like the in custody death of Derek Williams and the treatment of Darius Simmons' mother after the teen was shot and killed earlier this year.
