MADISON---Governor Scott Walker says he's no longer in favor of ending same day voter registration.

CBS 58 News independently verified with a Walker staffer Wednesday that the governor says eliminating same day registration would be too expensive.

A report issued Tuesday by the Government Accountability board says Wisconsin would have to make other changes to be in line with federal law and those changes would cost more than $5 million.

No word from State Rep. Joel Kleefisch who drafted legislation that would have eliminated same day registration.
