Golden Guernsey employees file complaint with state

by Chris Patterson

MADISON -- Former employees of Golden Guernsey have filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce saying the Waukesha plant closure took place without the minimum notice required by law.

Robert Storm Jr. of Burlington, one of the over 100 employees without work, is the man who filed the complaint with the Equal Rights Division (ERD).

The ERD will investigate whether Golden Guernsey violated the law stating the company was required to give employees 60 days notice before laying off more than 25% of the workforce.

The ERD can close the case if they find no violations. The agency can also find the comapny violated the law, and order them to pay employees within a certain time period.
