Pleasant View Elementary in Franklin closed due to illness outbreak

FRANKLIN -- Pleasant View Elementary School in Franklin will be closed May 17th due to 50 cases of gastroenteritis being reported in many classrooms. The Franklin School District says students can't return to class until they are symptom free for 48 hours.

According to the release symptoms reported by students included nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and a low fever. The School district reports they are working with the Franklin Health Department to implent heightened hygiene measures.

Pleasant View Elementary School will reopen on May 20th. Children who develop symptoms over the weekend are encouraged to stay home, and report the illness to the school.
