Four transported to local hospital after a bicyclist is struck

FRANKLIN -- Four people were transported to the hospital after a bicyclist was struck by a car.

Franklin police say an 81-year-old man was riding his bike near the 9500 block of W Loomis Road when, attempting to cross the street he was struck by a vehicle.

In an attempt to avoid the bicyclist, the driver of the vehicle tried to drive around the bicycle, which caused the car to roll over. There were three occupants in the car. The 46-year-old male driver and his passengers, a 50-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. 

Officials say the injuries of the four involved are non-life threatening.
