Former Walker aide Russell sentenced to 2 years in prisonMILWAUKEE—Former Governor Scott Walker aide Timothy Russell was sentenced to two years in prison and five years probation in court Tuesday.
Russell was sentenced after stealing from a veteran’s organization that he was appointed lead of by Walker. He pleaded guilty to stealing more than $20,000 from the organization. Russell apologized in court saying “I don’t expect that they’re going to forgive me, but I am truly truly sorry.” But Judge David Hasnsher didn’t think that Russell’s apology was sincere. He responded saying “There is also no true regret, remorse or repentance. I find that you don’t even have any shame,” said Judge Hansher. Prosecutors said that Russell used the money on personal vacations for himself.
