MILWAUKEE -- 32-year-old Jacob Knight, a former Milwaukee police officer, was found guilty of criminal misconduct for his part in the illegal strip search scandal. A Milwaukee County Judge sentenced Knight to 20 days at the house of corrections with release for work or community service.
According to court documents, Vagnini pulled a man over asking him for "the drugs". Vagnini put the man in a choke hold and stuck his gloved hand in the man's pants. He recovered a bag of cocaine from the man's anus. This particular victim filed a complaint with the police department. Other victims came forward once the department began its investigation.
In 2012, Michael Vagnini, Brian Kozelek, Jacob Knight, and Jeffrey Dollhopf all faced criminal charges related to illegal body cavity searches. Vagnini, the man believed the be leader of this group, was recently sentenced to 26 months in prison.
The Milwaukee Police Department is facing several lawsuits from the victims of these illegal strip searches. We're told one of the lawsuits is being filed on behalf of a juvenile who said an illegal body cavity search was performed on him when he was 15-years-old.
