FRANKLIN--Health officials say the number of gastroenteritis illnesses reported at Pleasant View Elementary School on Thursday are not because of food. More than 50 people at the school reported symptoms for nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and  fever.

Classes were canceled on Friday so the custodial staff could clean the school.

School will resume on Monday, May 20th for all students and staff who have been symptom-free for 48 hours.

The Franklin Health Department and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services will continue to investigate the cause of the illnesses.
