(BURLINGTON, WI) – Three hundred workers were displaced from their job on January 30 when an eight-alarm fire overtook the Echo Lake Foods processing plant in Burlington, Wisconsin.

This tragedy brought the community together Wednesday to help assist workers who are currently out of work.

The Racine County Workforce Development Center, in partnership with the state Department of Workforce Development Center, offered informational briefings to the Echo Lake Foods workforce Wednesday.

The purpose of these Informational Briefings was to provide Echo Lake employees with transition services ranging from unemployment insurance and job search assistance to information on local community resources.

A job fair has also been set up for the employees. It will be held this coming Wednesday.
