South side bar owner shoots and kills armed robber
Milwaukee -- The owner of Concertina Bar, a popular Milwaukee south side tavern, responded with deadly force when he was confronted by three robbers around midnight. One of those robbers died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Bar Owner Andy Kochanski told CBS 58, "Well yeah I did the shooting. Two guys with guns, what are you going to do? You're going to protect yourself and your customers and that's what I did."
Police say the 23-year-old robber died at the scene, and the other two robbery suspect fled.
This isn't the first time Kochanski fired shots at robbers. He fired shots when multiple men tried to rob his Christmas party in 2008.
Kochanski says the bar will stay open as scheduled.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case.
